well after one term break I started AM 2 weeks ago, My mentor for this Term is Raquel Cohelo, she is a really nice person and with a lot of experience. This term is "Introduction to Acting", so my first assigment I have to animate just with the body lenguage a contrast between moods.
This is the Blocking of my first Assignmet, I hope Raquel help me to push my poses further.
This week we have to start the blocking for the assignment 2, but I did my final version of my assignment 1 with the critics that Paul did to me last week.
Hi,This is my second pass of Blocking, the comments that I received from Paul was that I need to exaggerate more my poses, so I add the jump and a little bit of energy on all my animation.
This is the blocking pass of my first assignment of the 2nd Term.
My Mentor this 2nd. Class is Paul Allen: "Raised all over the map in Texas, I grew up loving to trace cartoons out of the Sunday comics and filling my eyes with Saturday morning cartoons. After deciding that chasing shoplifters in retail establishments wasn't a worthy career for such raw talents, I chose a path to animation (circa 1993 - 94) after seeing the short film by Pixar, 'Knick Knack'. After graduating from a 2 year course of study at The Art Institute of Dallas in 1997, I've animated at DNA Productions, Inc. for the past 9 years on various projects such as 'Santa vs. The Snowman', 'Olive the Other Reindeer', 'Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius' (both feature and TV show), and the current feature 'The Ant Bully'."
Finally I had time to update my AM blog, this week I had to make my first animation at AM, The Bouncing Ball, this animation supose to measure our sense of timing and space that we have as future animators; was fun because 3 years ago I did my first and last bouncing ball.
My second assignment was to pose Stu on an Excitment pose.
Well this week we had to go out to the streets and find interesting poses. I had trouble to find some poses that I like. I went to Kings Park, a beautiful park in Downtown Perth, and start to take some photos from my surroundings, finally I got my poses.
Finally I start AM, I'm excited. This first week we just review a video of introducction to animation, it was just great how with this video and just been around the AM campus, I confirm how happy I'm with my professional career.
